My Bridal March Song: The First Time I Loved Forever

The first time I heard of the Philippine Madrigal Singers' (aka MADZ) rendition of this song, I knew straight away that this song HAS TO BE the one for when I walk down the aisle. This was EVEN BEFORE we officially got engaged in 2010, and guess what? I never changed my mind since.

Jake couldn't agree more..... the first time he heard of it, he LITERALLY had tears falling down his eyes! I'm not kidding!

The lyrics is just spot on..... he was my first true love and I was his, and hopefully we'll be each other's last love too.

And so this song was just the perfect tune to describe how we feel towards each other. It was truly special that even up to this day, more than 6 months after our church wedding, we still listen to it over and over again.  Our most favorite line in this song is this,

"....and if wishes and dreams are merely for children and if love's a tale for fools... I'd live the dream with you..."

So here I am, sharing this wonderful song to all of you, my friends. May you enjoy listening to it, and may you let this song fill you up with content and joy of the thought of loving, and being loved in return.  <3 <3 <3

My JAZEL SY Bridal Gown for auction

I initially posted my interest to auction off my wedding gown in  the wedding community that I owe so much---Weddings at Work and now, I am here sharing the good news to everyone! I am selling my gorgeous JAZEL SY wedding dress with only a meager starting price!

I've always loved my gown since the moment I first laid my eyes on it, BUT I had to be practical and give it away for the simplest reason, that......  I love it. I've accepted the fact that I won't be able to wear it again and instead of just leaving it to rot, I'd much rather give it away (in the right price, of course) to somebody else who would be blessed by this beautiful piece of artwork.

My friends know that this dress was quite a splurge, and so whoever wins this gown is really very lucky because she would be able to get this for only a fraction of the original cost. This fab dress is actually fit to flare with a draped bodice and a sweetheart neckline. It has a figure-flattering mermaid silhouette with an open back intricate lace details and tulle crystal beading that is accented with a "whimsical-tiered" soft organza textured train and skirt.

This gown has only been used once, in mint condition, and has been dry cleaned. I'm also throwing in  my preparation dress and my bridal shoes, as well as my ceremony and secondary veil and bridal pouch (all from Jazel Sy) to the winning bidder. You can put in your bids now by emailing me at jennygelvezon@gmail.com. Closing time will be on June 27th.

Wedding Host: Mallory Ferrer-Cosio's Birthday Promo

Hello everyone! How have you guys been?? Today, I woke up to a very good news, and I would like to share this blessing to all of you engaged couples out there!

This month is our wedding host's birth month. Mallory, or more known as "Mal" for short, is offering her hosting services with a Php2,000 slash off for everyone who will book her from June 15th to June 30th.

And not only that........... to make things more interesting, she decided to throw in a raffle as well! Those that will book her during the promo period will have a chance of winning her services FOR FREE! Yes, you heard me right! According to Mal, details of the raffle will be shared exclusively to those who are qualified to join.

Mallory is a really AWESOME host either for a wedding or non-related events so this promo is totally a steal! I'm absolutely biased but we just love her to bits! She totally rocked our wedding reception with her prowess to public speaking with class! She's got plenty of character and confidence to offer. She can be the best choice as host for a formal sit down dinner to a casual free-flowing reception. She is flexible enough to adjust herself to her audience and there is just something unexplainable about her that makes people glued to their seats. Your guests are unlikely to leave until the program finishes, that's how awesome she is!

She has heaps of unique ideas to offer for the program too. She was the one who suggested for us to do the "Scenario Shots" during the reception. It was such a hit because it was definitely a cool and much modern alternative to the old wacky poses. We have received lots of good feedback on doing that, and I've been seeing more and more couples incorporating that now to their wedding programmes, thanks to Mal's creative suggestion.

Some photos of our wicked photo buffet poses. Can you guess what the scenarios were? :)

*This promo applies to weddings until April 2014 only. (Except the following dates: (2013) July 29, Sept. 10, Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 2, Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31. (2014) Jan 1,2, 23, Feb. 14, 18, April 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20)

Manny and April Photography

*Beware: This post is going to be photo heavy!

Now back to weddings.......... Ever since Jake and I started on our wedding planning, we were clear that a good portion of our budget has to go to photos! Because after your wedding, when all the lights, the food, cake, the band and the treats are gone.... one of two or three (if you count the gown) that remains, are the beautiful and honey-sweet memories of that once in a lifetime occasion that your wedding photos will forever remind you of.

Manny & April are newlyweds themselves having just celebrated their first year anniversary as husband and wife last April. I met April (now that sounds redundant!) in this awesome wedding community in the Philippines, called Weddings At Work  where she used to be an active member of. She gladly answered my questions and that of other brides-to-be too. She was one of the reasons that actually compelled me to book our church (we had the same church for our weddings, btw) because of her "architectural" insights. This talented couple are both architects by profession and it is quite amazing how they are able to squeeze in time for their love for photography. Given their very busy schedules at work, not to mention the long hours (and overtime, right guys??), they are still able to cover weddings left and right and do other errands in between.

They started doing photography not too long ago but it seems that they have already thundered the industry with their innate talent and passion. They initially started offering their services as auxiliary photographers free of charge for friends (ahem ahem...us included) and that paved the way for them to eventually start their venture into wedding photography, OFFICIALLY. And now, they are slowly but surely making themselves known as "Manny and April Photography." Aba, I recently learned my mom was spreading the word to our neighbor who just got engaged... 'Yung Manny and April magaling'. hahahaha! Now that is sikat!

I love how their style is just light and fresh and natural... full of emotions and well, it just simply takes you back to that very moment that just by looking at it, it tells you the story on what transpired that day. The memories then feels alive with each glancet that it reminds you what you have felt exactly when that photo was taken.... With a heart bursting with so much love, and immense happiness!

*Note: As of this writing, they are already accepting bookings as main photographers! Their packages are worth checking (really, really competetive rates but you are assured of GREAT QUALITY ofcourse.) It won't last long because they getting more and more sikat! They are getting booked out already even for January 2015. So strike while the iron is hot!

Here are some of their shots that I really really love!
